A Buckinghamshire pub's focus on providing quality food has seen it win a prestigious prize.
The Frog pub in Skirmett has been named the county's dining pub of the year 2010 in the latest edition of the Good Pub Guide.
"I think we won because we are consistent and have high standards of food and service and use an awful lot of local produce," owner Jim Crowe tells the Henley Standard.
Running the pub alongside his wife Noelle, the couple point out that they have been placed in the guide for more than a decade, but this is the first time they've been named the best pub in the county.
Their success was also attributed to their decision to work with a lot of local companies, in addition to the "fantastic" game on offer in the region.
He adds that the fillet of venison with red cabbage and redcurrant jus is one of the establishment's most popular meals, while a bake sale is held once a month.
And the Frog's food performance has been backed up by the publication, which claims it serves meals that are "imaginative and reliably enjoyable".
Some operators, such as Peach Pubs have been running menu focus groups to get quality feedback on their menus from people who have experience and an interest in cooking.
