Town & City Pub Company achieve sales growth of almost 10%

The owner of the Yates's chain, Town & City Pub Company, has recorded a like-for-like sales growth of nearly ten per cent.

In a trading statement, the brand revealed it had achieved a 9.5 per cent improvement in this regard.

The results come after an £11 million investment and acquisition strategy pursued by the business.

For instance, it added Slug and Lettuce to its portfolio, taking its total roster of UK sites to 230 branches.

Toby Smith, chief executive of the company, stated: "We are delighted with these results, it is a terrific performance ... and we will continue to evolve and invest in our business."

He expressed optimism that the feat can be replicated throughout the rest of the current trading year.

The Yates's chain was recently awarded the title of Branded Food Operator of the Year at the Great British Pub Food Awards held at Plaisterers Hall in London.
